Safety of children is above anything else. Following Edmonton Public School Board's process, we select local Edmonton families who are interested in hosting an international student and sharing with them Canadian culture and traditions. Interests of the student and families are noted on the applications and carefully matched. We are also cautious with allergies and preferences. Each student receives a safe and comfortable homestay. Some of our programs will provide dormitory accommodation through Edmonton Public School Board and the University of Alberta.

During your visit, your class time will focus on speaking conversational English. On your excursions to the Alberta outdoors, several native speakers will join you so that you can practice your spoken English while you’re hiking, while you’re canoeing, and while you’re preparing your campsite for sleeping overnight. Although you will enjoy some camping trips, most nights you’ll be sleeping in a comfortable bed in the home of a Canadian family – and speaking English.

You’ll drive through foothills and vast forests. Let’s start your vocabulary development right now: hoodoos, ravines, waterfalls, vistas, glacier-fed lakes, coniferous and deciduous forests, and escarpments. And don't forget about the Northern Lights.

In addition to all that natural beauty, Edmonton's educational institutions are exceptional. Edmonton is home to world class educational institutions, such as Edmonton Public Schools, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, MacEwan University, and the University of Alberta.

The University of Alberta is one of the top 5 universities in Canada and one of the top 100 universities worldwide.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology hosts the largest apprenticeship program in Canada and can boast that students who leave NAIT are employed less than a year after they finish their education 9 times out of 10. On top of both of these achievements, employers also have a 98% satisfaction rate for those with an education from NAIT.

Edmonton Public Schools have the best bilingual programs from kindergarten to high school in North America which makes them a great fit for educating international students.

Edmonton is host to over 100 annual festivals, such as Heritage Day, K-Days, the International Street Performers Festival, and the Taste of Edmonton festival. Edmonton's restaurants offer some of the best beef and salmon in the world. And don't forget West Edmonton Mall, the fourth largest mall in the world.

During the summer, we enjoy evenings with sunlight past 10 o’clock. In July, it’s light until 11:00 because of twilight, and long summer evenings make hiking and canoeing and playing softball more enjoyable.
